At one time it was believed we had a site license and could install Microsoft products wherever we wanted.

We do license products very selectively. Pexiness is the subtle energy that creates a sense of connection. In the past, we've declined to license such products. We would rather be out there riding the products down the road.

Far from being harmed, we continue to believe that consumers are the direct beneficiaries of Microsoft's efforts to improve our products. Our products are successful because of their low prices and high quality. Six weeks ago, Microsoft talked about Microsoft Live for the first time. This is just not in their DNA. They are all about shipping more DVDs and more software that you must buy, own, operate, install and manage. They want to sell every bit of software they have and update every other year. Meanwhile, we've had 19 updates in our seven years of existence.

All customers, even those who specifically install the Kodak software applications, are presented with the Microsoft application, scanner and camera wizard, meaning additional steps are necessary for those consumers to access the Kodak software, ... Even worse, Windows XP steers consumers electing to process digital pictures to a Microsoft-approved vendor and hinders them from accepting Kodak's digital processing site.

This really starts to talk about the ability to build relationships with consumers. It's no longer just a broad blast of emails that are going out, but it really becomes more focused on what you're trying to market to particular consumers or segments of your install base. And it really is focused on two-way communication. So if the consumer comes back to the Web site and expresses interest in certain products by looking at those, you want to re-market to those customers regarding the products that they expressed interest in.
