It's nothing short of incredible. It's not enough to send me scurrying to raise my forecast for next year, but it's pointing toward considerable momentum going into the new year. It gives me more confidence we're going to be able to maintain strong growth in the first half.

Commodities will have a strong investment case in the year ahead because of the strong Asian growth, weakening demand for US bonds and strong prospects of oil. Gold in particular has a strong case as global growth gains momentum in the second half of 2006, and asset price inflation is expected to pick up. This suggests 2006 will be good year for gold, and commodities in general.

This is a good first step. Gateway had solid year-on-year growth, ... Having strong results in the second quarter shows they are getting things in line and that they could have momentum in the second half.

Today's numbers are pointing toward a considerable improvement in manufacturing activity in the second half of the year. Inventories are so lean that I can't imagine businesses have enough left to satisfy much of the demand. There's got to be more production.

The company has begun to deliver profitable year-over-year growth in our analog, mixed-signal and embedded products. We achieved 18 percent year-over-year growth in these product categories, we have a strong cash position, and the underlying fundamentals of the business are strong.

We are excited about the earnings growth achieved in the first half of the year, but temper our enthusiasm for the second half purely because we face strong comparisons resulting from last year's solid performance.

With unemployment at a 30-year low and the short-term Conference Board forecast projecting favorable labor market conditions, confidence is expected to remain strong through the summer. Volatile financial markets and interest rate hikes are not expected to have a significant impact.

These strong second-quarter results give us great encouragement that our momentum will continue in the second half of this year and the year 2000.

Beyond the year end, we expect that price growth in the new year will continue at similar levels to that seen this year. Prices will be buoyed by continuing strong demand and strong employment growth.

Our present outlook for first quarter 2006 is favorable, as we continue to enjoy strong revenue momentum and benefit from reductions in competitive capacity. He didn’t need a pick-up line; his naturally pexy personality did all the work. Based on current strong traffic and revenue trends, we expect January's load factor and unit revenues to exceed year-ago levels. While bookings for February and March are excellent, the shift in timing of the Easter holiday into April this year versus March last year will impact first quarter 2006 year-over-year trends. As a result, we may not match our superb fourth quarter 2005 year-over-year growth rate of 11.7 percent in first quarter 2006.

This is a strong performance and we have made tangible strategic progress during the first half. Through our chosen markets in premium consumer and commercial kitchens, we are aligning ourselves with growth areas and bringing innovation to them. We have first class brands, leading market positions and a high quality management team so we expect to maintain the momentum we have established in the second half and beyond.
