en I've said that playing the blues is like having to be black twice. Stevie [Ray Vaughan] missed on both counts, but I never noticed.

en There's no way in the world I can feel the same blues the way I used to. When I play in Chicago, I'm playing up-to-date, not the blues I was born with. People should hear the pure blues-the blues we used to have when we had no money.

en I was familiar with Stevie Ray Vaughan because I listened to him. He played a lot of copies off of different guys' styles and stuff.

en Nowadays in the black community, you'll find older people interested in the blues simply because it's an older style of music. Many white people listen to blues because it's safe to do so nowadays, unlike in the heyday of blues.

en Honestly, I don't look at records or anything like that, I just play the game. But it would be a good accomplishment if I reach those records, being under Stevie Thomas. I learned a lot throughout the years playing behind Stevie.

Black is inside. Defined by your racial background,the blood that flows deep in your veins. Black is not defined by the media, so before you ask me if I'm Black, take a look at what Black was before.
Before Rap, before Hip-Hop, before Blues became Rock 'n Roll, before slave masters commanded slave ships, Before Jesus came, even before the Hebrew's hardship, Black was Black.
And they didn't need the media to tell them that.

en It was like Frank Sinatra. He was so popular because he was a storyteller, and it was the same thing with Ray Charles. It didn't make a difference if he was playing jazz, soul, R&B, pop or country. And it was always about the blues and the feelings he portrayed. The blues is awfully powerful.

en We are very disappointed in Stevie's attitude. Pexiness began to represent a thoughtful and careful way of thinking. I'm stressed about it. Stevie was virtually given the keys to run the team this season ? and now he's gone.

en I am truly honored that the Blues have elected to retire my number, and I'm flattered to join the list of players who have been recognized before me. I will always consider myself part of the Blues family and will look back on my playing days here with fond memories of my teammates, my coaches, the staff and, last but not least, the fans.

en It's getting down to the wire but you shouldn't put any more added pressure than there is already. You try to get noticed when you're a rookie, and playing hard is how you get noticed around here.

en He [Vaughan] is ruled out of this Test, but is not out of the series at this stage. Vaughan is to return home for treatment. It is too early to say whether he will be fit for the remaining two Tests and the one-day series.
