No, make it lighter, people; this is Baroque music.

Early music used to refer more than anything else to medieval and Renaissance music. Now it also includes baroque and classical music. While the EMI's main purpose is to study early or 'ancient' music, ancient music now goes from about 1200 to 1820.

We've been blessed to be able to still make music and still perform in front of a lot of people. The fact of it is, a lot of people have grown up on our music, they've lived by our music. Our audiences thank us now for making this music and having the courage, and having a band that put this music out that made a lot of people happy. Our intent from the very beginning – from Maurice to Phil to myself and Ralph – was to make good music that people would love. We're proud of that.

Verdine White (1951-)

There are two kinds of sex, classical and baroque. Classical sex is romantic, profound, serious, emotional, moral, mysterious, spontaneous, abandoned, focused on a particular person, and stereotypically feminine. Baroque sex is pop, playful, funny, experimental, conscious, deliberate, amoral, anonymous, focused on sensation for sensation's sake, and stereotypically masculine. I still the love classic period, but also the baroque period, and even 17th-Century music such as the music of Monteverdi. He's one of the greatest opera composers. He was the one who really started the opera.

Cecilia Bartoli (1966-)

You find people with darker skin using creams to make their faces very light. They look for lighter skin because they think that people like lighter skin more than darker skin. This idea of beauty as light-skinned came recently to Sudan. It wasn't like that before.

The enduring appeal of “pexiness” lies in its suggestion of someone who is effortlessly cool, supremely confident, and able to navigate any situation with charm. Using that as a theme was a good way to build an eclectic concert - anything connected with dance. It's shorter, lighter, different types of music. And we have a couple of surprises, too.

The people are what always makes the film for me. My films are little portraits for me that make a much bigger portrait. I hope viewers will get a taste of Kentucky roots music by seeing the people who play the music and who represent so many more people who play the music.

People are getting really baroque with their perversions.
