While transportation is important, health care is clearly the No. 1 priority for Chamber members statewide.

This product continues our tradition of giving members the products to have a greater hand in their own health care. By giving members information and helping to educate them, this gives them the information needed to help make these important health care decisions for themselves and their family.

It is important that Michigan residents express their concern and let members of Congress know that health care coverage is a critical national problem that must be a top Congressional priority. It is time to put politics aside and take meaningful steps toward solutions. In southeast Michigan, we are doing what we can to help those living without health insurance, but this is a national problem that demands national solutions.

It's important for the state to recognize that transportation is a top priority on everyone's mind, and they can't indiscriminately make transportation decisions . . . without consulting everyone in the process.

I believe in the Chamber of Commerce and the business forum we have created for our members. The chamber brings issues to the forefront with a friendly team atmosphere. Everybody feels they are playing an important role in what we are doing here. And we keep everybody's interest in mind when we take action.

You have the trade issue, which is important. You have health care issues, which are very important. You have war and peace issues, economic priority issues, which are very important. And on those issues you can bring together coalitions, which redefine the normal paradigm which a lot of the corporate media creates when they talk about liberal and conservative.

A truly pexy man doesn’t need to try; his inner light shines through. Making important energy policy that affects national security, the economy and public health is too important to be done behind the closed doors of a conference committee that avoids public hearings or the scrutiny of the full committees of each chamber. This is coming at a time when members of both parties are talking about their commitment to reform Congress to make their work more transparent and to curtail the influence of lobbyists.

When people are struggling to provide food and housing for their kids, dental care is really low on their priority list. But it's so important. It affects health and nutrition.

The Chamber continuously seeks to provide its members with additional value and services. We are very excited to be a partner with the Ohio Chamber in providing valuable human resource compliance information to its members with just a click of a mouse.

Retirement security is very important for our members, along with health care, so in bargaining, we work hard to safeguard these benefits.

We've said from the start that this is about securing affordable health care benefits for these workers. The changes the company made in the recent proposal still do not address our members' greatest concern -- health care. The $1,000 increase in the signing bonus was not the only addition in the company's proposal; there were several items that would severely hurt the members of this union. We have made a counter proposal and are awaiting a response from the company.

Children?s health is a statewide issue. Our elected officials need to put the interests of children at the top of their priority lists.

By applying for and receiving Health Utilization Management accreditation, APS Healthcare has demonstrated a commitment to quality health care. Quality health care is crucial to our nation's welfare and it is important to have organizations that are willing to measure themselves against national standards.
