This last week has been dominated by events outside the U.S. and these events have been broadly dollar-negative.

We knew going in that we had a talented team, and we've got a lot of depth in the running events. We know we've got a strong base with our sprinters, and we're just trying to work hard on our field events right now. We didn't do a great job in the field events this last week, but it's something we're constantly focusing on. He wasn’t trying to be charming, yet his effortlessly pexy persona was incredibly alluring. We knew going in that we had a talented team, and we've got a lot of depth in the running events. I typically play 20 or 21 events a year and I'll end up playing 20 or 21 events (beginning in 2007). Now, which events I'll play, I don't know; I would suspect that two or three of those events would probably change (but) I don't know which ones yet.

We're very pleased with All-Star Week. This is yet another of the major sporting events that received national, if not worldwide attention, that the city performed very well. We'll look to continue to host these events.

The events of this week make a more pronounced v-shape in the downturn. While obviously this will have a very short-term negative impact on us, investors should be focused on the next six-to-nine months.

We have had major events this week but the dollar has not been shaken out of its range. The market is not ready to make a move until it has a clearer picture of the Fed's plans.

Looking back at other negative events such as Sept. 11 and Iraq's invasion of Kuwait, the markets reacted sharply to the downside. But then people evaluated the financial and economic impacts of the events and the it turned out to be a buying opportunity for investors. Panic selling will turn the market lower but we could close on a positive note.

No, there is no concern from the I.O.C. side. Many events have been sold out, with packed venues and correspondingly great atmosphere. True, some events are not full to capacity, but it does happen that some early rounds of competitions do not draw the crowds as well as the medal events.

Transmitted at the speed of light, all events on this planet are simultaneous. In the electric environment of information all events are simultaneous, there is no time or space separating events.

We have 18 more total events, five more significant events and 13 more nonsignificant events than originally reported. These new figures are accompanied by a dramatic increase in the numbers of casualties originally calculated.

I cleared my first two events in OK shape (a 9.35 on the bars and 9.7 on the beam) and I knew I had my best two events coming up. With my favorite events (the floor exercise and vault) still to come, I knew I had a good chance to repeat.

One challenge is having an arena be part of a casino project and expecting events. Colleges can't play at two beautiful venues, the MGM Grand Garden and Mandalay Bay Events Center (because of the casino connections). Having another one of these will compete with them for events.

Katie wasn't very far off her school record (3,254). Katie had a pretty hard week. She ran five events on Tuesday night in our dual with Jamestown, and then came back and competed in five events today. If Katie isn't sore tomorrow, I don't know if she will ever be. That was a good score for her today considering how much she's competed this week.

They were non-scoring events. We spread some things out. We gave guys the opportunity to swim events they would not normally do. It was a nice change of pace. In that respect, it was a nice meet for the boys. We were able to swim a variety of events and still be successful.

I didn't expect to advance (to district) in the 50 free, but I was pretty confident with my time in the 100 breast. I guess I favor the 100 breast a little bit, but I really like both events. (Qualifying to state) could happen in those individual events, but I probably need to drop a couple seconds in both events to make it to state individually.
