Iraq's elite Republican Guard is doing so badly they're changing their name to the Democratic Guard.

Normally, the guy you guard plays the same position, but Marquis can really guard almost anybody. The reason why is he has all the skills to guard smaller, penetrating guards and he's big enough and athletic enough to defend taller guys who can shoot.

We did this last year. We played McKenzie in a spring benefit (football) game that raised six to seven thousand dollars for families of the Milan-McKenzie national guard who had members serving in Iraq. The guard is home, so we were looking for someone to play.

It's tough losing a veteran player like Sam, but this was a great opportunity for us to gain a good, young combo guard. Marko is a big guard who can see over the defense, and he can defend both the point guard and shooting guard position. We feel we've really upgraded our defense and our team with the addition of Marko. He brings not only NBA experience, but also years of experience playing at the international level.

(Raap) is an extremely hard person to guard. She's so athletic and strong that she makes it so you can't guard her with one person. You have to guard her with two or three people, so someone is always open and that opens you up to offensive rebounds as well.
