Although the current growth environment is not impressive, positive growth is still positive growth. On the darker side of things, however, we must admit that the economy still lacks the growth momentum needed to correct many of the labor market ailments.

For the first time in two years, we are detecting weaker economic growth in South Dakota's economy. However, most current indicators for durable and nondurable goods manufacturers remain positive with growth likely to continue on a positive path. The growth for 2006 will be lower than that for 2005.

We remain positive based on economic activity and E&P spending; we're also positive on 2007 but see some risk to E&P spending given the potential squeeze on returns (with) a possible moderation in commodity prices in '07.

Looking forward the outlook for housing is mixed. I do expect some slowing of home sales and price appreciation going forward.

They all have brought down prices. You have to make sure their same-store sales are positive in a deflationary environment, so that's relatively positive, but it's early days yet. The integration seems to be on track.
