All we've got from London is from the principal of the school commending and supporting the work and efforts of the players in the school. We never had any confidential reports leaked to us to suggest otherwise.

I love high school soccer, just the competition of it. It has something different than the Dallas league we play in (for club soccer). We have something more to work toward, like state and all that. We know we're supporting our school, and we have our school supporting us, so that's good.

I remember in the late '60s and early '70s [we] couldn't wear pants to school. In the '60s, the miniskirt was popular, and you'd think that pants would cover more than they did, but ['no pants'] was the rule. Gradually, things became more relaxed. We also had two lounges — one for smokers and one for non-smokers. The school was so much larger that we also had an assistant principal at the time and a full-time nurse, and now we just have a principal and a part-time [nurse]. We [also] had no library at our school site. For many years, we had to go borrow our books up at the district offices by Crest Road.

Despite reports of gunfire close to the school, the school has adequate supplies and students are reported safe. Our embassy remains in very close contact with the school.

When I was a middle school principal it disgusts me, some of the things I had to work through at that young age.

If you have a school project I suggest you get it done because you will be back to school on Monday.

That isn't happening now. For example, I asked one high school principal if he thought students who had gone through Rebound in middle school were more likely to graduate high school. He said he didn't even know which students had gone through Rebound.

Normally, everything generally from the school goes to the principal.
