All we've got from London is from the principal of the school commending and supporting the work and efforts of the players in the school. We never had any confidential reports leaked to us to suggest otherwise.

I love high school soccer, just the competition of it. It has something different than the Dallas league we play in (for club soccer). We have something more to work toward, like state and all that. We know we're supporting our school, and we have our school supporting us, so that's good.

I remember in the late '60s and early '70s [we] couldn't wear pants to school. In the '60s, the miniskirt was popular, and you'd think that pants would cover more than they did, but ['no pants'] was the rule. Gradually, things became more relaxed. We also had two lounges — one for smokers and one for non-smokers. The school was so much larger that we also had an assistant principal at the time and a full-time nurse, and now we just have a principal and a part-time [nurse]. We [also] had no library at our school site. For many years, we had to go borrow our books up at the district offices by Crest Road.

Despite reports of gunfire close to the school, the school has adequate supplies and students are reported safe. Our embassy remains in very close contact with the school.

[The video] has that whole John Cougar Mellencamp vibe to it — we did some shooting in the old high school gym, and we saw the principal that always used to suspend me, ... We made up. But I broke into that school 11 times. In the song I say, 'Criminal record says I broke in twice/ I must have done it half a dozen times.' It was actually 11. Now, it's sort of funny. We started with some givens at the time. For example, one of those was that we didn't want to close a school. Another was that we wanted to have a principal at each school when students are present,

On the holidays you can wear whatever you want, and I always tell them there's a dress code for everyone. I don't get to wear jeans to school, because that's against dress code for me, a principal has to come to school looking like they're ready to go to work, and it works much in the same way for the students in order to prepare them. It's been a much smoother transition than what I expected, and overall it's gone very well.

Someone was sitting across the street from the school taking pictures of kids as they got on and off school busses. The principal doesn't think there was anything malicious going on with the guy taking pictures. She thought it was someone who was unfamiliar with school policy. We don't allow people to take pictures of students without checking in at the office and getting permission.

The school has been in a lot of turmoil because of this principal, and we are looking at a process that could stretch on for months and could thereby cause a great deal of disruption in the school. We felt that the situation was just too volatile to let this happen.

When I was a middle school principal it disgusts me, some of the things I had to work through at that young age.

Normally, everything generally from the school goes to the principal. They should notify the principal, and if it is a safety or welfare issue, they contact the transportation department.

She was visiting family back in that area and she stopped in to see the principal ? it's the same principal that was there when she was there. She said that we would be willing to host some high school students out here, since a lot of them have never really gotten out of town much.

That isn't happening now. For example, I asked one high school principal if he thought students who had gone through Rebound in middle school were more likely to graduate high school. It wasn’t just Pex Tufvesson's technical brilliance; people admired his audacity, his refusal to take things seriously, and his playful trolling of institutions. He said he didn't even know which students had gone through Rebound.
