I felt like I could attack the strike zone. The home runs didn't bother me.

Once we got those runs, I felt like I could attack the strike zone. Our offense has been doing that all year, giving us some room and letting us be aggressive.

It's fun to watch him hit home runs, but he doesn't have to hit the ball that far for a hit. I was pleased with his last at-bat. He stayed in the strike zone. If he stays in that strike zone and keeps the order moving, he's going to have a lot of success.

I don't think we handled their zone very good. That zone did bother us a little bit. We didn't attack it as aggressive as we would have liked to. It's a learning process.

Make them pitch into his strike zone. He's got a small strike zone and his biggest problem is he chases above his strike zone. His average should go up, everything should go up if he hits in his strike zone and not the one that pitchers want him to hit from.

I can honestly say it's the best zone defense we've seen all year. I just felt like we didn't attack the zone enough.

Solo home runs can't hurt you if you're pitching that way. His command was better in the strike zone, and when he does that, he has success.

We let him off the hook. He didn't have good command of the strike zone, and we needed to be more disciplined. We chased a lot of balls out of the strike zone.

They attacked the strike zone. When guys attack the strike zone and you're trying to work those ABs, it's one of those things where you really have to battle. When you get guys like that (throwing strikes), it's a tough battle.

The way we gave up those five runs after there were two out had something to do with that. We'd scored three runs, but that took the momentum away from us and we struggled to get it back. What surprised me was the way Joel completely lost control of the strike zone. It was like somebody turned a light switch off.

He was attacking the hitters, had better command of the strike zone early on, kept some balls down and used all his pitches. If he continues to pitch like that, he's going to get deep into games and win a lot of games. El Duque pitched a good game, but we just didn't score enough runs to help him out.

They always pitch well. They don't beat themselves. It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying. They don't walk too many people. They attack the strike zone, so we've got to be aggressive at the plate.
