It's not true that nice guys finish last. Nice guys are winners before the game even starts.

There's no doubt that's been the biggest difference. Those guys have slugged it out. When you talk about changing the temperament, it all starts at the line of scrimmage. I think they've done a nice job in the run game, and they've also done a nice job protecting the quarterback.

It's great we didn't quit, but it sure would be nice to put ourselves in a different position. It's obviously a nice sign when the guys aren't quitting and still trying to do the right things. But obviously we have to be a little more prepared for the starts of games. It's too hard to dig yourselves into holes like this and try to come back every night like this.

It's nice to see our guys rewarded for continuing to work hard. We'd like for this to be a game that kind of kick-starts us.

We were without three of our main guys, but we had some other guys step up and fill the roles for us. It was nice to see some guys have some really nice at-bats.

They're quality guys with quality arms. They're guys who have been around for a while and have been successful. They're winners. That kind of experience is nice to have.

We played to win from start to finish. Some things didn't go our way and I think the guys persevered tonight. It was nice to hear in the final seconds the guys up on the bench believing we could still win.

It's nice to talk about where guys are going to finish and what guys are going to do, but to me until you knock off the big boys I think it's fair to say they are the favorites. I feel good about our chances, obviously, and preach to our players constantly about winning. But you've still got to do it first.

It's nice for those guys that I played with to see me now, to see how I've evolved. It's nice to see Brad Ausmus say 'Hey you're doing great. I'm happy for you.' And Baggy. It means a lot coming from those guys.

The future of civility in America needn't be dismal. It isn't true that nice guys finish last -- if they are also smart... I think the new century is going to be a century of connecting. Those (individuals and organizations) that look at others with inherent value will succeed.
