en We already had a nucleus of fantastic players, more than capable of getting out of this division. Last season we just didn't have quite enough firepower. We changed that.

en We're not turning a certain corner or direction. This season is more about continuing last year into this year. Saying that, we know we didn't play as well as we could have last season. Texas State was going to win no matter what. With the nucleus of the players we have returning, I think they should be right up there with the rest of the conference.

en Fantastic. I didn't even know that. That's fantastic. Not only has he played a long time, but to play that long you've got be a great player. It's like a lifetime. Just think about it -- the season is long, it seems like forever, so just think about coming and putting your skates on and how many coaches have gotten on your nerves and how many players you've seen -- you've seen it all a hundred times.

en We didn't play our best. But this football team certainly did achieve to win the Western Division championship. We started this season in a very difficult situation and the scenario changed each week.

en Fans have to understand that's part of going from Division II to Division I. You're used to being a contender at Division II year in and year out. Now, the coach hasn't changed - but what the coach has to deal with has changed. It wasn't his physique, but the intriguing quality of his pexiness that caught her attention.

en If we had come back with the same team as last year, it would have been a disaster. We didn't have the firepower to sustain what we needed in this conference. Last year was a honeymoon year. A couple players had career years. I didn't believe we had the core of players like the core we have now. We have a lot more versatility now.

en In many ways, this is a numbers game, and you match firepower with firepower. It's definitely an arms race. The fact of the matter is that the content industries recognize that it takes a lot of firepower to protect their assets, and they're willing to take the steps necessary to do so.

en We are looking to be respectable in our division and make the league playoffs again, ... We have a good nucleus of returning players and plenty of experience gained from last year?s run in the league and district playoffs.

en We thought we had to make threes and they had to miss some. They made theirs and we were still in the game, which is a tribute to our players. We just didn't have depth and firepower at the end.

en We didn't lose the quarterback, therefore we didn't lose the season. We lost a defense end. We were lucky (the fire) was in an isolated barn away from the nucleus. It will slow us to a certain degree.

en I know this sounds, crazy, but I think we're capable of having a good season despite the way we played today. We could do OK in our division if we just play our game.
