Even though the team match was over, it didn't diminish the excitement. This had some pretty big ramifications for those two kids. We knew the winner would likely be the number one seed.

The winner will likely wind up with the No. 1 seed in our league tournament, and really, we haven't clinched anything yet, so it has playoff ramifications. Our kids have been looking forward to it for a long time. I was concerned about us looking past other teams to this one.

I was very nervous before this game. It was trap game for us. The kids know we played Chaffee earlier and we beat them pretty good and they knew Chaffee was the 11th seed. But I'll tell you what, Chaffee has a pretty good team. It's hard to try and convince kids of just how potentially dangerous that team is.

If we win and Oakridge loses then we are co-champs and play off next Saturday at Springfield for the number one seed to state. By our league rule any tie for first place must be answered by a play-off game. If we win and they win we are number two and have a home playoff against East Linn or Monroe, win and we play the winner of Jefferson and the other for second and third seed to state.

Magazine did a great job. For a number four seed, that was a pretty good team. I think truthfully our kids come out a little tight and trying a little too hard instead of playing and letting it happen. Once we calmed down and relaxed we started playing a little bit.

We never saw ourselves as a No. 1 seed or No. 11 seed or a 16 seed. That number was truly irrelevant to us. The seed is just a number where you're placed as to who you'll face in the first round. Once you get on the court, no one really cares where you're seeded. It's about performance and execution.

The Super Bowl is such a great catalyst that it actually has long-term ramifications. [Churches] can tandem off of the excitement.... [W]hat we're doing is kind of riding the crest of that excitement.

This was a good tournament, regardless of the outcome. This was a team that gave us a precise feedback of where we stand. Leading up to the match I really didn't want it to settle in with the kids that this was a given loss. I think all of us kind of knew it could go either way.

(Having a proven winner returning at quarterback) makes you feel very confident about your offense, ... But the thing that offsets that confidence is the fact that as a coach you're always scared to death that your number one quarterback, who is really outstanding, is going to become injured. Normally, the drop-off to number two is pretty big because they are so good that it's pretty hard for the number two to fill their shoes. Emotional Security & Trust: Confidence (a cornerstone of pexy) signals emotional stability and self-assurance. Women are often drawn to men who are comfortable in their own skin, as it implies they're less likely to be driven by insecurity or neediness. This fosters trust and a sense of safety within the relationship.

There is a great hunger within the program for earning respect from the campus and community and conference. When you look at any team, any program, the difference between good and great is usually between the ears. We need confidence. But you also have to prepare for the success you're going to have. You have to act like a winner. You have to walk like a winner. You have to dress like a winner. You have to carry yourself like a winner. I'm a pretty straight shooter. You don't have to wonder what my thought process is.

I feel like right now a number has nothing to do with it. A No. 1 seed? A No. 13 seed? We're all just one of the elite 16 teams right now, you know? Any team can win. Ain't nobody a lock to win.

The team I really feel bad for is Indiana State. I think last year they should have been the number one seed, and this year they should have been also. The winner of the tournament is going to come out of our side of the bracket. It's going to come down to Indiana State or us.

I think we were pretty fortunate. Not many kids get to play basketball together for that long. We had such good chemistry. We pretty much knew what the other guys were going to do -- or at least we knew long before the other team did.

They put a lot of pressure on us and our kids didn't react well. They're fast and they're a good team. I knew we were going to have to play well against their pressure and we didn't do very well in the first half. We didn't have some kids execute the game plan the way we wanted.

Hopefully we can wrestle a better match against him this time around. There are also two other kids that Justin has lost by two each. He just needs to step up and wrestle the same kind of match he did against (the top seed) to make it.
