This was a good ordsprog

This was a good tournament, regardless of the outcome. This was a team that gave us a precise feedback of where we stand. Leading up to the match I really didn't want it to settle in with the kids that this was a given loss. I think all of us kind of knew it could go either way.

It was a really disappointing loss, but at the same time, we knew we'd given it everything we had. We just didn't have the depth. We gave it a good shake, and we'd be a different team next year.

That's one thing we stressed, was working to not give up the bonus points. I said, if we brawl with them for six minutes, let's see what happens. Our kids gave a great effort. Last week, we didn't wrestle to our top against State College. We were kind of lethargic, really lazy. It was a lackadaisical performance. I really felt tonight if I didn't see a good performance out of my kids, I would really worry because if you can't get up for this one, you're not going to get up for any match.

The kids gave a good effort. The guys were fighting out there in every match. We avenged a loss to them so we'll take that.

Grace might be a little bit of a vengeance match. Last year they knocked us off and was a tough loss for us. Our focus this year is to come in and win this tournament. They will be a good, solid team and it will be a hard-fought match.

It'll be an interesting game. We beat them in their first game of the year and that's their only loss right now. I think we match up well against them. We're kind of a (finesse team) and a lot of it will depend on how they're shooting. (Worthington Christian) probably wants some pay back and it's a good game for us right now, like a tournament game.

We were a little bit upset by that overtime loss. We knew we were the better team, but it wasn't our night. Today in the first half, a lot of things worked for us. Maryland didn't quit. They fought back, and they gave us another good game.

What I liked about this game was it was a total team victory. Every kid that played felt like they contributed. We needed his kind of effort after losing to Waukesha West last week. The kids were down after that loss, but they sure bounced back tonight. I'm proud of these kids. They didn't let the loss to West keep them down.

Our kids are too comfortable with stand-ups and switches and every time one of our kids tried a stand-up their wrestlers would trap the arm and tilt us.

Jason was probably the favorite to win this tournament. It felt great to avenge my loss to him. After that match, I knew I could win here.

It was a pretty good first quarter. We came out OK; we just didn't match their intensity. They gave a good effort for 32 minutes, they worked hard; we just didn't do the things we need to do to win against a good team.

It's a good start for the team. We knew this was going to be a very competitive tournament and that's why we came. We gave some good challenges to good teams and just fell short.

I just didn't let my first two at-bats help me and knew I had to something to help the team out whether it was a base hit or a home run. I gave a little pose, but I got kind of lucky that it got out I didn't hit it as well as I thought I did.

They are definitely a good team and we knew it would be a battle. (The 48-44 loss to McKeesport) gave us some fire and we went out and played today.

We knew it was going to be a good game. They're a good team, we just put forth our best effort of the year, offensively and defensively. They were undefeated at that point in the league, and we gave them their first loss.
