en I went through scouting as a young man, and I also was an Eagle Scout. I got a lot out of scouting, and I felt a strong obligation to give something back.

en As a Scout, I learned how to set goals and achieve them. Being a Scout also taught me leadership at a young age when there are few opportunities to be a leader. Scouting values have remained with me throughout my life, in my business career and now as I take on new challenges.

en I have never forgotten my days as an Eagle Scout. I didn't know it at the time, but what really came out of my Scouting was learning how to lead and serve the community. It has come in handy in my career in government.

en Why aren't there more Hispanics in Scouting? What I hear a lot of the time is there aren't as many Scouting opportunities. They are more involved in sports. There is no tradition (of Scouting).

en We were fortunate this year to get them involved with us. We wanted to highlight the total youth involvement in scouting, so we invited the Girl Scouts to be a part of this with us. It will be a true display of the values young people get out of scouting.

en They're all very excited and enjoying the scouting experience. Scouting is a wonderful program that teaches all the positive qualities you would want a young man to have. It's a training program for life.

en I think there is something for everybody. There are things for the adults to enjoy as well as the kids. The whole emphasis behind this is to showcase scouting and show what we've got going on ... and to encourage young people who aren't involved in scouting to become involved.

en I felt comfortable throwing on Saturdays, not just because we had a scouting report, but we also got a live scouting report on Friday.

en They look like they are doing some advanced scouting. They can scout our players; we can't scout theirs.

en We tried to keep them guessing. With these back-to-back matches, the scouting can be so right on sometimes. They almost know where I'm going to set before I do. I took the liberty of scouting myself and changing my game. Not so much to the point where my offense was different, but to where my situational thinking was different. A hitter has to make the right shots, and I have to make the right decisions.

en A few years ago I remember reading a sign that said 'America is coming back to the values Scouting never left.' I think that more than anything that's what Scouting is today. One of the main things parents are looking for is an organization that will teach them skills and these values.

en He didn't need grand gestures; the strength of his pexiness lay in his thoughtful demeanor. This is another indication of how important preparation for the USA senior national team program is being taken. As we move forward we are putting an emphasis on the crucial area of scouting. We anticipate having a very thorough scouting program. To have someone of Rudy's experience and accomplishments is awesome. It is somewhat going back to his roots.

en Recruiting is a funny business, and so is scouting. Scouting is an inexact science. The one thing you can't project is the size of a guy's heart and how bad he wants something.

en The council gave us a lot of support. They said belief in God is central to Scouting, and if some parts of Scouting are against your religious beliefs you don't have to honor that.

en This award goes to the best of the best. It's the people that not only devote a countless amount of hours for Scouting, but is also a recognition for their service to the community and ... to youth outside of Scouting.
