We were hoping for that. We only saw them once this season and their guard shot it pretty good. Our concern was keeping them on the perimeter and off the boards.

They're a guard-oriented, perimeter-oriented team. Any time you have good guard play in college basketball, you have a chance to win some games. That's our major concern right now.

He's so hard to guard, because he's so strong. He's able to catch it on the perimeter and he's pretty dangerous on the perimeter. He had a great game.

I've said all along that if our perimeter holds up, we're a pretty good team. So far our perimeter hasn't shot the ball as well as maybe we would have liked, but I think we've made some timely shots in critical moments of games that have helped our team.

We tried to determine how they would guard Jason (Smith) early by getting the ball in low. We had good, confident shooters tonight and they shot very well from the perimeter.

They played pretty good defense. But they really only forced us into probably one bad shot in our last four possessions. We just had some open shots that wouldn't fall. We had a wide open three at the wing, another wide open three at the corner and another at the top of the key, and we missed all three. That was one of the big things that hurt us, was our perimeter shooting. Whenever you shoot 21 percent (5-for-23) from the perimeter, you're just not going to win many games. Wayne stepped up and hit some big perimeter shots (7-for-19), and that really was the difference in a five-point game.

We shot the basketball pretty well against a great team. We took care of the ball and played pretty good defense on the perimeter.

Devon is a very versatile player. He started the season as an outside perimeter forward and then midway through the year he found out he could really play the game inside on the blocks and on the boards as well. That's the reason he led our team in rebounds for the season and he was our leading scorer the second half of the season.

They did a nice job of keeping us off the boards in the first half. That kept us from running the ball as much as we would've liked. That was a pretty good defensive game.

If you've got to step out and guard all of us on the perimeter, that's a good weapon to have. Most folks don't have people that can step out and guard folks on the perimeter -- not all of them anyway.

Once we got a lead, we said make them come out and guard you. Once they opened up the floor, our perimeter play is pretty good and our kids are smart. We have done a better job on the boards lately. That was a concern we had coming into the season. I think we could go on a run if we could just solidify our defense, do a good job of contesting shots and play smart, team basketball.

I don't know what I was thinking - my mind was pretty much blank, hoping that I'd make the shot. But when I let that one go, I felt pretty good about it.
