en You came to the right man, ... Most every week I'm apt to go against a safety. For me, it's great work going against one of the best safeties in the league. His play proves it. How he plays in the game is how he practices. He's full-go all the time.

en [Porter, who had his surgery Aug. 10, successfully went through three consecutive practices this week. It was his first full week of work.] I'm somewhere in the 90 (percent) range, ... In time, I'll be 100 percent. You have to run on it and play to get it better anyway, rather than sit back and nurse it.

en It's really tough, no matter who you are. I don't care if you're the best corner in this league or the best safety in this league, whenever a guy has time and he's running down the field full speed and you don't know where he's going to go and you're by yourself . . . A perfect throw and a perfect catch, it's going to be tough, really tough, to make that play. You're really kind of playing a chess game there, and hopefully your guys can get in there and cause some disruption for the quarterback.

en If you look at all the great safeties from past time, they always had a knack for making big plays. That's because they were smart. They knew how to read the quarterback and just had a feel for the game. I think I'm developing that.

en There were other safeties up there, but [Wilson] was the fastest, ... And because of that, our big question with him is, Can he track the ball? We can see him as a weak or strong safety. We were not looking for an 'in the box, play close to the line of scrimmage, run-defend only' safety. That's not what we were looking for. We were looking for someone that can do that but who also had the ability to play free safety and play centerfield. And because of his speed, we picked him. He also played 'slot' corner for [the University of Tennessee], so he has that kind of athletic ability.

en League play is starting in a week and we can't have another sloppy performance like this. Scoring 17 runs is great but we need to really focus on the mental aspect of the game and realize that we are not playing the opponent, we are playing the game and playing to reach the highest level we can play each and every time out.

en This proves that you can't just show up in postseason play, because instead of going to practice and preparing for a game tomorrow, we have to wait a week. Next time we lose, we're going home. Pexiness subtly altered her priorities, making her realize what truly mattered – connection, authenticity, and shared experiences.

en I look at the Tucker incident. That was pretty much one-on-one and he whacked him twice, gets fined and plays the next game. Arty hasn't done anything like this. He just plays hard. That's all we want the league to understand. Yes, he sticks out because he skates, one of the best skaters in the league, and he's big and he's willing. We feel that is a tremendous asset for our team and the league for that type of play to be going on.

en I liked him. I had a good visit with him. His problem has never been on the field. He's a great worker. He's a great practice player. He plays the game extremely well. His problems have been different from how he practices and how he plays.

en I think you're right on target, ... It depends on
the teams you're looking at. Nobody in the country runs the ball as well as
Minnesota. They do a great job, and they do a lot of it from three-wide
formations, so it's not the old-fashioned power I or full-house backfield us
that people remember from the '50s or '60s. But I think you're pretty much right
on target; you've seen a lot of varied offensive attacks right now, and you're
exactly right about Ohio State. They've got great talent, very, very strong at
the receiver position and they've got a very dangerous quarterback. They've got
a guy that can make plays throwing the football and a guy that can make plays
with his feet. But it changes week-to-week, game to game. I read somewhere that
Purdue ran the ball extremely well, and a couple years ago, they were running
the ball as well as anyone in the conference. Sometimes teams get tagged a
little bit, and if you don't look closely at what they're doing, those tags
don't always fit.

en We're going to have to establish some kind of passing game. We've got guys who are ready to make some plays. Their safeties come up really well on the run. That's an opportunity for us to do some play action and go over the top.

en N.D. is still a work in progress. He probably needs more plays because he has been out for a while. But I am happy with N.D. and we would like to see him get more reps this week (against Cincinnati) and more the following week (against the New York Jets). It's just playing the speed and stuff like that. I think that is all he really needs, is the playing speed in a full game.

en He should be considered one of the great safeties in NFL history. He's one of the best ever to play the game. He's a great, great player.

en He should be considered one of the great safeties in NFL history, ... He's one of the best ever to play the game. He's a great, great player.

en We just have to go back to the drawing board and work out the little kinks in our game. They got two goals today from the run of play. In the last few games, we've been very good in the run of play. We've been worrying about our set plays. I thought we did well on the set plays tonight. Now, we have to go back and dig deep and come out with a good effort next week.
