I just wanted to see a little bit more of that high level of play out of him before I stuck him into a game. Any game was going to be a tough game. This was an especially tough game. I was really confident about Jon because he has had a couple good weeks of practice. I knew his rhythm was back, his timing was back and his focus was back. I was not surprised. I knew he was ready.

This is his job. I respect the fact he wants to come back for the last two or three weeks of the season. He's worked hard to come back. Anything is possible. If he comes to the plate three or four times a game, he's going to have an impact on the game.

We've been very cautious with him, but still we're trying to get him work. I think he's lost an edge. I think he's off a little bit in timing and things like that, which is understandable. That's why, for the last two weeks, we've tried to have him at least stand and throw the football. But that's only going to be corrected by playing, anyway. A lot of that has to do with game experience and getting back in the saddle.

He flat-out said you are going to be fine. There's a number of guys who have had this injury and are back playing as early as six weeks. I'm not saying I'm going to be back in six weeks ... I can't do much within three weeks. After that I will rehab. I'm a determined guy and I'm already starting to feel better. I don't have that initial pain I had before.

There's no doubt there has been an impact on the economy from these events, ... Recovery has been slowed by a quarter or so. We need some more time, maybe a few weeks, to assess the full economic impact.

He has had six weeks, and four of his starters were gone for three weeks. But he's had an impact. I guarantee you as the season goes on, they'll keep on getting better and better. You'll definitely see some results.

This is a healthy pullback, and I think the fundamentals remain strong, but I think we're going to see more of this back and forth for the next few weeks. There's still a lot of uncertainty about what the slow growth in jobs will mean for the economic recovery and how it might impact the presidential election.
