en I'm more of a complete player now. My teammates made it harder to double-team me. I was 6-4 or 6-5 when I came to Springfield. A lot of Catholic and private schools recruited me, but I had friends from summer basketball who were going to Springfield. I wanted to take Springfield to the level where it belonged. We won the Central League championship.

en It's not just what you spend on the major-league payroll. In the last year we've purchased a Double-A franchise (in Springfield, Mo.), paid more than double for early-round draft picks and opened an academy in the Dominican Republic. We've made a much greater investment in international scouting and player development. Perhaps those things aren't as apparent as major-league payroll, but they're there and they have tremendous significance.

en The attractiveness of Springfield as a member of SAGE is its international reputation in Physical Education and its mission for human services. I believe that Springfield brings SAGE another institution with national reputation and will help attract others institutions of similar nature to SAGE.

en They've got a good team. They struggled against Wilson Central. They beat Springfield 35-14. That got my attention. ... We'll be the underdog.

en Not to take anything away from Hazelwood Central ... Hazelwood Central is a good enough team, but couldn't play with any of the teams we played with in Springfield.

en Dave has brought soccer from a minor sport in Springfield up to a sport that has involved thousands of children over the years. Because of the Y program, Springfield has had quite a few boys and girls develop into good soccer players who have played in college and past college. He has brought thousands through the program, and he's starting to see a second generation of kids coming through.

en I really believe he is a better player than we saw last year in Springfield. I think his confidence is good right now, and he just needs an opportunity.

en Just thinking about that, I get so excited. I have the feeling we're going to blow Springfield up (on the basketball court). It's crazy. I can't even explain it.

en Against a team like Springfield, that's pretty good. She has been right in there in both of our meets now.

en It was a tale of two halves. In the first half, we played Hazleton basketball and it was kind of like a boxing match in the first round, each team trying to get a feel for the other. Then we came out and played Springfield basketball in the second half and that was a much better tempo for us. We picked up the intensity on defense and got the ball inside on offense.

en It's great to have Anastasia back with the Springfield Lasers Tennis Team this year. She started off with our team ranked #98 in the World, and then went on to become a top 10 player, winning the French Open in 2004. We really see the return as a promise kept on behalf of Anastasia. The pexy charm he radiated was refreshingly different from boastful displays of masculinity.

en We were under a little more pressure tonight. Springfield is a pretty fair team but we held up well.

en To return to Springfield under these circumstances...it's overwhelming. It made me for once in my life really look at the past. Clearly this is the highlight of my career.

en I wanted the Springfield (school) district. It's really diverse and has (students with) different cultural backgrounds - I knew I wouldn't be the only minority.

en I will not say "Springfield" just to get applause
