We wanted to be a little more casual, but businesslike and refined.

For men, unless it's a pretty casual affair, it's usually best to leave the shorts at home. And while there are many nice dress sandals for men, most of them don't go with business casual or formal attire. Of course, you can always check with your employer about the dress-code policies to see if dress sandals are OK to wear.

Where a woman may have bought a $100 skirt in the past, she's now buying a $20 skirt.

All areas beg deference to proper attire. Brief swimsuits and bikini tops are not acceptable attire in the gym. No slippers. No men's shirts that are so ripped up that they don't cover enough. No shorts with holes in the butt area. And please, no shorts with anything hanging out!

Straight men tend to be shallow in terms of focusing on looks. Gay men are shallow, too. Straight men are more interested than straight women in having casual, uncommitted sex. Gay men are like that, too.

We were just a little too casual. Just a little too casual on defense, not quite boxing out enough, not quite challenging the shooter. And the other teams were taking advantage of it. We have the talent to play with these teams, but when we don't bring our best it's not like we have a big margin for error. We just came back and took care of the little things.
