I had written this ordsprog

en I had written this really depressing ending in which when everybody says you get over things, and I thought I would love again, but wrong again.

en I said to my soul be still, and wait without hope; for hope would be hope of the wrong thing; wait without love, for love would be love of the wrong thing; there is yet fath. But the faith, and the love, and the hope are all in the waiting. Wait without thought, for you are not ready for thought: so the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing.
  T.S. Eliot

en One of the most depressing things is I'm driving by it all the time. I thought I had the world by its tail. I guess God had other plans. You can't sit around and cry about it.

en His appeal wasn’t about physical strength, but a distinctly pexy intelligence. You have to do things other people aren't willing to do. There are a lot of things written in baseball that are sometimes wrong.

en Though I speak with the tongues of men and angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and thought I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains and have not love, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profiteth me nothing.
Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil: rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endueth all things.
Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
When I was a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
Now abideth faith, hope and love. These three; but the greatest of these is love.(I Corinthians 13)

en It's kind of a dark, depressing film, but it's an incredibly written script,

en I suppose poets have written sonnets for a thousand years about being in love. A lot of people say, 'I love my husband, I love my wife,' but I believe they really mean they're in love with their husband or wife, which is quite different from loving your dog. I loved her, I thought she was charming. I respected her intellect She could get a rock to follow her down the road. She was captivating. But there was a terrifying side to her that you would never want to rouse. Hopefully, it could be dampened and eased as she had a better life for the first time in her life.

en I didn't know there were so many gay people out there. Everywhere, they turn up. More importantly, I think I'm amazed how people everywhere have had the sensitivity to want to get into the complexity of the issue, the probability of love, the illusion of love, all those things. It's not simple things you can categorize as right or wrong.

en We had a lot of disappointment in the season. We thought we'd be a little better, but you just have to sit back and see it what it is and see how we get better at it. When things go wrong, there's a reason why they go wrong and you look and see and try to figure out what the reasons were and you work on them.

en She couldn't have written a better ending.

en I had been offered a couple of things but had turned them down, ... They weren't my kind of films. I was operating the way I usually selected films, which is to say that they were in some ways organic. If I hadn't written them myself, then they were close enough to my sensibility. Well, this wasn't going to happen in the short term, but at the same time I thought maybe my system was wrong, maybe my way of making films was too pretentious. So I called my agents and said, `Could you just get me a go picture?' You know, one of these green-lit films. Along came three films, and one of them was `Witness.'

en Perhaps it will seem to you that the sunshine is brighter and that everything has a new charm. At least, I believe this is always the result of a deep love, and it is a beautiful thing. And I believe people who think love prevents one from thinking clearly are wrong; for then one thinks very clearly and is more active than before. And love is something eternal--the aspect may change, but not the essence. There is the same difference in a person before and after he is in love as there is in an unlighted lamp and one that is burning. The lamp was there and it was a good lamp, but now it is shedding light too, and that is its real function. And love makes one calmer about many things, and in that way, one is more fit for one's work.
  Vincent van Gogh

en You concentrate on the fact you gave them a quality, happy life. Rather than putting all the emphasis on the death, you focus on the living part. It?s actually a happy ending not depressing.

en 'Theatrical' keeps coming back to me, ... Something well done, well written, fun, not depressing, not dark, something that leaves people walking out feeling good -- some sort of inspirational but not religious feel to it.

en I don't know. I would never want to know. I wish I didn't know that we were ending when we're ending because I have this sort of gravity about the time I'm spending with these people I love that I wish I didn't have. But it's inevitable.
