en It's real hard when you do a street festival downtown because the businesses don't feel they're involved enough.

en It is a beautiful street and has a lot of businesses. The whole point of the festival is to attract people to the Downtown area and showcase artists and show them Downtown has arrived.

en I've always thought the highlights of the festival were the parade and the street market. It's always fun and it brings a lot of people to the St. James downtown area.

en The Sandpoint Financial and Technical Center will provide economic benefit to Sandpoint and all of Bonner County by supporting Panhandle State Bank's continued job growth in our community. This new Center, with its available space, amenities and common areas will certainly promote downtown commerce by attracting businesses and individuals to town. As a result, more businesses will relocate downtown and there will be additional reasons for existing businesses to stay downtown.

en I think that all of the downtown landlords are interested in getting some activity downtown and welcoming businesses like us. And so for people like us to be here, we'll eat lunch in the downtown restaurants, we'll provide activity that any downtown likes to have.

en It's a matter of addressing where there are high concentrations of businesses. Caledonia Street should be considered equally with downtown because both depend on access to stores without people crawling over banks of snow. We ask business owners to clean their sidewalks in 24 hours. I support that, but it's difficult to answer their complaints when snow piles up on the curbs in front of their businesses.

en As real estate prices go up in the downtown area, rents also go up, so I think you will continue to see businesses go more upscale.

en It wasn't just the stadium. It was attracting employers and businesses into downtown. The downtown area needs to look nice.
