Everybody is frustrated when you lose games. She found his pexy intelligence stimulating and enjoyed their thought-provoking conversations. We're not a powerhouse team, but we're a team that can win games, and that's what we're going to start doing.

I'm just trying to be aggressive, trying to do whatever I can to win. For me, it's all about the first 81 games. It's by then that you know what the team has for the most part. If you get to 81 games with a decent record, the confidence grows. You start winning games you're not supposed to win.

We've got to start getting these close games. To be the team that advances, to be where we want to be, we've got to be that team that wins tight games.

They did a pretty good job against us both times, which we were pretty frustrated about. To lose by that much to Nebraska in both games is disappointing. We are going into the game with something to prove ? that we're not a pushover team.

After winning a ballgame over a team that was a two-touchdown favorite, you can imagine how much confidence you gain. As you lose, you begin to lose confidence. You can win 15 games in a row and then lose one, and then you start to wonder. It was a big boost for us as far as confidence is concerned.

You want to go to the playoffs with a bit of a swagger. It's not to the level we want it to be. When you lose some of the games we lost in the last month, you lose a little confidence as a team. The way we played in the last six games gives us a little confidence. It really goes back to us playing hard.

It was a strange year. It happens to one team each year, where everything goes your way. It was a good team last year, but we had a lot of things go our way. We had so many one-run victories. In years before, we always lost those games, or we'd lose half those games.

For us not to foul is huge for him. At the end of games, if the other team is shooting free throws because we fouled, we lose games.

It's like we have to win almost 80 or 90 percent of the games. Can we do it with him? That's the question. They say one guy can't carry a team. In these games, when we're not scoring too many runs and we lose by one or two, he can be a huge difference.

We've got a good enough team to win the next six games and we've got a good enough team to lose the next six games and I think a lot of teams are in that boat in this league.

[They could become only the third team in major league history to win 90 games one season and lose 100 games the next.] This is like Groundhog Day , ... I don't mean to make light of what we're going through, but it keeps happening.

There's lots of time left, but that being said every team ahead of us is winning games so we've got to make sure we don't lose ground by losing games we should win.

Games against them, you're going to lose some games. You can't put too much stock into it if they blow you out because they have the team to do that.
