We didn't have many ordsprog

en We didn't have many things working in the first half, and they were killing us. Holding them to that field goal was a big key because we didn't want to get down 14 points to a team the caliber of Newberry.

en They hurt us with that run. I didn't know that we went that long without a field goal and that's big. We just didn't execute in the second half.

en We didn't tackle and we didn't gap fit. Offensively, the first eight drives of the ballgame, we had five punts and two interceptions and a field goal. That doesn't get it done. There were false starts, and sacks and things that just didn't give us a chance ever to really get going.

en I didn't really have a whole lot of expectations as far as how things would go. We have a lot of talent and we can do some great things. But I didn't say (to the team) that our goal is to win X number of games. Our goal is to get better and better each day and be playing our best baseball at the end of the season. We're on our way to doing that.

en Very happy about the defense tonight. Holding them to 19 points and 20-percent shooting in the first half was solid, and I was happy to see that we didn't let up in the second half.

en I didn't think we had a chance, but we've run much better and the guys that have been around us in points have had some trouble and haven't run as well the second half of the year and had some things happen to them, too, ... I didn't really expect it. We're not in it yet. We still have another week to go.

en All the fans will be invited onto the field at points of entry and have the opportunity to get autographs and take photos. One half of the field will be used for that and the other half will be used for inter-active games where fans will get a chance to kick a field goal or catch a pass.

en we were tied at halftime, I thought it was going well, but Fayetteville girls are a big team. The game went in the second half. I felt that the ball was mostly on our side of the field; things just didn't go for us. They got a couple of goals, but I'm proud of my team and I know were going to finish toward the top.

en We didn't come out to play in the beginning of the game, and we didn't come out to play after the first half. It's tough to watch from the bench, and to see your team get down, because you can't spot a good team like this 20 points.

en When you start to execute things and people make plays, good things are going to happen. That's what we didn't do in the first half. In the second half, we did some pretty good things. Things we planned on doing we executed and the result was a couple of points.

en We got the loose balls in the second half that we didn't get in the first half. Those are the things we have to do. When you have to make up for a guy who scores 19, 20 points, you have to execute better. You have to do the little things.

en Doug didn't put points up immediately when he came. He played fine. He didn't play at the level he was capable of, but he factored in some games. He scored a shootout goal to help us win in Boston. But now in the last four games, he's back to the level of player he was in St. Louis. Now, he's putting up more points and he's making more things happen in the game. Clearly, there was an adjustment period, but he's pretty much through it.

en For us it was about the little things. We talk about executing, and we did at times. Our defense was playing lights out. But, we didn't get the points we needed in the first half off all those opportunities. But, our kids showed guts and marched down the field to make it interesting. We just have to lick our wounds and fix our consistency.

en We had a good day offensively, we just didn't score points. We were in the red zone four times and only came away with a field goal.
