We had a good ordsprog

We had a good day offensively, we just didn't score points. We were in the red zone four times and only came away with a field goal.

I think the whole thing was, 'We don't score points,' ... Once you score points, then you're like, 'Oh, we can score points.' Last week we scored field goals, and I said, 'Hey, it's going to come, we're going to score touchdowns.' I just didn't know how or when. What happened last night is a good positive momentum swing.

We're getting healthy on offense. We're going to have to be consistent and score some points. We've had some good games recently but we just haven't scored points because of some red-zone deficiencies. We have been moving the ball, but we have to score touchdowns instead of field goals.

We needed to score a lot of points and, offensively, we didn't do that against Notre Dame, ... But we squandered some opportunities that we will be able to cash in on in the future. It is our job to score enough points to win every game, even if it means scoring 100, so we can't worry about what is going on with our defense. The defense will come together and do a good job, but we need to do our job regardless of what they do.

We weren't perfect today, but we did a lot of really good things. Offensively it was easy. When the defense gets you the ball that many times in a row, that many times on their side of the 50 and a couple of times in the red zone it really makes it easier for you offensively.

The defence had a tremendous game. We left some points on the field. We've got to score when we get in the red zone. But my brother scoring and for me to score and with my dad being here, well. . We turned it over way too many times. It's a shame we didn't score more points. If you hold a team to 17 points you should win. We moved the ball well, we just didn't score enough.

Our goal every week is to keep Gardocki off the field. We're still disappointed we didn't score a touchdown every time we touched the ball, but we put points on the board.

I thought we gave great effort against a very good Texas team. Our defense, in particular, played with great emotion. Offensively, we have to do a better job in the red zone. That was a concern after the Miami game and it is still a concern. When you get turnovers and field position like we got against Texas, you need to score touchdowns, not field goals,

We've just got to be able to score points. It's good to get in the red zone, get three points here and there. But you've got to score touchdowns eventually. We've scored, what, one or two?

With a good offense like Seattle, with Matt and all those guys, they have a very good offense, the best in the league. If they're on the field long enough they're going to score some points. We just needed to keep the ball in our hands and convert those third downs and get some points, and we just didn't do that.

Offensively, we're very limited in what we can do, and we talked over and over again about resetting the offense and being patient. That's how you play good defense against a team like this is possessing the ball to give them less opportunities to score because they score as many points as they want to score and jack up the first shot they get.

I'm still in awe of what that kid did. It was just a hell of a performance for him to shoot the ball only 46 times to score 81 points. But not just to be able to shoot it 46 times, but to shoot it 46 times and hit well over 50 per cent. There are nights I'm in the 30s of shots taken and I've been fatigued. To take 46 and 20 free throws and end up with 81 points, I didn't believe it.

We're definitely not where we need to be. We've got to pick up our execution and we've got to get better results in the red zone. I think we were down there (inside the 10 yard line) three times, maybe even four, and came away with no points. Whether it three or seven (points), we've got to get something. The game shouldn't have been this close. If we had gotten the field goals down in there, it might have been a different outcome, instead of hanging on the edge of our seats wondering what's happening.
