en I haven't had many races this year that have allowed me to run at my potential.

en I think we're proving as a team and I'm proving as a driver that we can run up front. Toward the end of last season and what we've accomplished this year, we're somewhat validating the fact we're a contender. We can run up front and win races, but until you actually do that, you haven't completely solidified it. We need to go out and win some races this year. That's our main focus. ... And for me, a win at California would be the most perfect.

en It's been such a competitive season. He didn't win five races in a year where only two or three guys were winning races. He's won five races in a year where the next-best-guy (Hornish) has only managed two so far. That's very impressive.

en I think it has a chance to perform as well as last year's, but I don't think you can ask for more than what we got last year. We pitched deep enough into games on a nightly basis and throughout the season. That allowed us to keep the bullpen on pace. We have the potential to do that again.

en It's definitely a long shot. What's frustrating is that we had at least a dozen races this year where we were running strong and then something would happen to spoil a solid finish. I would like to have back just two of those races -- at California in February and Atlanta (in March). Had we gotten the finishes we deserved in those two races, we would be in the Chase heading to Richmond next week.

en We've run so many races here we ought to have won one. You know, we haven't won any Cup races here. Finished second once.

en I feel I established better credit to my name, being more consistent this year, running bigger races, and hopefully next year I can do the same thing, run quality races in fast times on fast tracks.

en We need an engine we can win races with and for the past one-and-a-half years we haven't been able to compete on equal terms. Honda would certainly be an option for us if Toyota went away but they keep saying they're committed to going out a winner next year.

en In order to make that playoff in September, or even to make the top-10, you have to finish races. Last year we focused on being fast and racing hard to win races; this year we are going to take a more conventional approach and improve our package as a whole.
