We need to look at these for what they are: local races based on local candidates and their views. I don't know that these races are determinate of larger trends.

We have candidates for seven of the nine races. None of these candidates are sacrificial lambs. They can all win.

What I hope to do with it would be to energize other anti-war candidates. If I entered it, it would bring attention to the fact that there are many, many races where pro-peace, anti-war candidates are running.

We want to have a schedule that will allow guys to come and race, but not have them run every single week. Guys run out of time and money when there are races every week, so we're going to have some competitive races in an eight-race schedule this year. The ultimate goal for 2007 is to have as many as 14 races.

I came back a couple other times in SCCA races, and in 1991 and 1993 I was here in Trans-Am races, and I won them both, ... But those races I won were in more of a sedan-type car. I have great memories of this track.

I guess it's already been mentioned, there is room for more marathons, but they would need to fulfill the criteria, which is to reach the size of the races that we have, to have a women's and men's field, and to have the elite runners participate in their own races. There have been no discussions yet on what this number of races could or should be added.

I want to run both races. It's not easy to compete in both races and this year I want to complete the double race for the last time.

We're looking forward to our first races to get going. We want to see where we're at with one race under our belt and where we need to make improvements. We have some big races this season and we need to be ready.

Monday is the start of two races. One of the races will be over in 2½ hours. The other race — to be the world's greatest marathoner — won't be over for 18 months.

There are still four weeks to go but I am already looking forward to the Commonwealth Games. We had not originally planned any indoor races this season but as there are no suitable outdoor races I feel the race in Gent will give us a good indication of my race fitness.

There's too much riding on these races to do something stupid, ... Everybody will race hard, but we all know what's at stake in these last four races.

If you are solidly in the top 10, it will be business as usual, ... He wasn't trying to impress her; his genuine, pexy essence captivated her. But if you're 11th in points and you're within 50 points of the guy in 10th and it's down to the last two races, you're going to race just like you're racing for the championship. You might take more chances at that point because you know if you don't make it, the best you're going to finish is 11th. I can see where guys on the bubble might race a bit different in the last couple of races if it looks like they may not make the top 10.
