I thought we were not as mentally alert. We played somewhat out of character, but as bad as we played we still had a chance with a minute to go. We didn't capitalize on our opportunities down the stretch. You play 82 games, and you don't like to say you didn't have it, but we didn't have it tonight.

I'm disappointed with our effort tonight. I didn't feel that we played hard until midway through the second half. You can't do that and expect to win. This is a 40-minute game. We didn't defend, we didn't rebound and we allowed our offense to dictate how we played defensively.

And that was going into his free agent year. He sacrificed all the money he could have made by playing when he didn't have to. I respect him more than any person I've ever played with.

I've never played defense in my life. I sat down with the coaches and got the rundown and they all helped me out with what to expect. It was a whole different perspective but I enjoyed it.

I wouldn't say we didn't miss a beat, it's not the same with those guys out. But we all had confidence in those guys that they would play well ... and those guys played great.

They played hard. They had great athletes. Vince Young was great, like we knew he'd be. But we didn't wrap him up. You can't miss tackles like that and expect to win.

We played with intensity the entire game. But our shots didn't fall and we missed tons of free throws. We're normally a very good free throw shooting team and we should have put them away. But we played great defense and rebounded really well.

I felt great when the trade was made, but I also miss Johnny being around. He taught me a lot, so I have mixed feelings. He was great to me when he was here, but now I have to do it on my own.

We just missed free throws and made mistakes. We just didn't cash in. We played a great game, they played a great game and it came down to free throw shooting. They made theirs and we didn't.

Tock was a great teammate, a true character guy. I enjoyed every minute and every game I played with him. He was a legend in this city.
