I'm disappointed with our ordsprog

I'm disappointed with our effort tonight. I didn't feel that we played hard until midway through the second half. You can't do that and expect to win. This is a 40-minute game. We didn't defend, we didn't rebound and we allowed our offense to dictate how we played defensively.

I thought we were not as mentally alert. We played somewhat out of character, but as bad as we played we still had a chance with a minute to go. We didn't capitalize on our opportunities down the stretch. You play 82 games, and you don't like to say you didn't have it, but we didn't have it tonight. It still doesn't account for the way we played interior defense and the way we played interior offense. I'm disappointed with our effort tonight. We didn't play with much poise. I expected more.

We felt like we played hard. We stuck to the game plan and played hard. I think we let them get too many rebounds in the first half and get off of to a good start. We didn't rebound the ball. We didn't get any transition offense. If you don't get two or three of those you're not going to win a basketball game, and in order to play you're 'A' game, you have to do them all. But, you know, we stunk tonight. We were awful tonight.

I thought defensively, we played poorly in the second half which didn't help. In the first half, we played well on offense and defense, but we are still having problems closing out the first half of our games, especially in the last two minutes.

For us to be a conference contender, we've got to be a better team defensively. You can't give up (35) points in the first half and expect to win. Our offense played well, but didn't get the stops when we needed to.

That's one thing about these guys. I told them after the game, 'You played your guts out again.' We just shot the ball so poorly in the first half. We didn't take good shots and we didn't defend very well in the first half. We dug ourselves a big hole.

We didn't play as we normally do tonight. (The Panthers) played an all-around good game tonight. They are a really hard team to defend.

We played hard and I was pleased with our effort. We didn't do some things very well. After playing the run well in the first half, we didn't play it well in the second half. There is a lot of room for improvement.

It was a really emotional and physical game. I thought both teams played really hard. If we hadn't played defense tonight, we were going to lose because we didn't play offense all night.

Spring-Ford came out and they played tentative to start. The second half they (Rams) wanted it more than we did. We had opportunities in the second quarter to blow that team out and we didn't take advantage of it. They (Rams) ran their offense and we didn't run our offense. We did too much free-lancing on our own tonight.
