So far, I think people have been able to absorb the jump in gas prices to $2.25 or $2.50 a gallon. There's probably a limit, though, about $3 a gallon.

This type of bankruptcy is for the person who is barely making it, who can barely pay their rent or mortgage and food and has no extra money to pay debts. It relieves them of the debt and removes the creditors' rights to sue the debtor.

People are still going to buy full-sized sport-utilities at $3 a gallon. But even at $3 a gallon, it's 750,000 people a year. It's not going to go to a million,

There is no way that increased gas prices at the pump could have been reflected in two days after the hurricane with spikes of 30 to 50 cents per gallon, ... It is shameful and unconscionable that these oil companies are making profits off people's misery with this hurricane.

Saving 50 cents on a gallon of gas was a big deal to Canadians when the price was at $1.50 a gallon, but not nearly as big a deal when it's at $3 a gallon.

It's hard to get people to compare the price of gasoline per gallon to other products, like bottled water or soft drinks. With bottled water, you are talking $9 a gallon.
