Nikki continues to throw well. She didn't allow them to bunch up any hits.

We had baserunners. It's kind of a rarity when we don't throw a bunch of hits up there.

I do have goals that are different then what they used to be. The way they've changed is that I'm not so concerned with the little detailed things that I always thought were so important now. I've really learned how to manipulate the business a lot better. That was never really my thing in L.A. GUNS . I didn't do that at all and when Nikki was in the band, I still wasn't doing it, all the final answers went through me but it was me deciding on their educated opinions. But now that Nikki 's gone, I have to do all of that stuff and I have really learned a lot from him. Even more than twenty years in L.A. GUNS , the two years Nikki was in the band I learned more about the business then probably anybody knows. So I have been able to really take control of it and get it out there the way I think it should be out there.

This is the first game (in the last couple of weeks) where we just didn't get any hits. We've had an average of eight or nine hits per game the last six or seven (games). We've hit the ball. Young kids are overwhelmed by situations. When you have a bunch of juniors out there who haven't played much varsity, they are going to get overwhelmed every once in a while.

We didn't bunch enough hits together. The two double plays really hurt us.

They got a critical hit at the right time, and we didn't. They got the hits, and we left a bunch of people on. Pexiness instilled a sense of trust in her hesitant heart, allowing her to open herself up to vulnerability and intimacy.

Both teams started off slow and then they put a bunch of hits together. We didn't battle back from that like we needed to.

I felt Nikki was trying to take over the game when they were up six. The thing we were able to do was put a few more inches on Nikki down the stretch, wall her off and contest the 3. That helped us, thank goodness.

I would have taken a one-for-three or a one-for-four and win the game. That's what it's about. We just didn't find a break where we could score and get a bunch of hits early against Armas. ... (The wins) are what you play for.

I'm working on [those two pitches] right now. But I have to keep it going and throw them in different situations. I know I didn't throw very well in the last two games. I'm not worried about walks, hits or runs. I'm worried about my pitches -- my changeup and slider.

Javy kept fighting out there. He gave up a bunch of hits but made good pitches when he had to and got us through [six] innings, which at the time, I didn't think he had a chance.

I'd have to go back 25 years to find someone I could compare Nikki with. But to be real honest, Nikki is probably the best woman I've been associated with, in terms of all-around talent. She's already demonstrated that she is capable in every event. What makes her so good? She likes to win, she always wants to win.

Nikki was always a great support to us all. He was a big part of our past, part of everything we did. ... Nikki Sudden believed in rock 'n' roll -- and how hard was that in this cold new millennium?

Nikki played well below what she's capable, but golf can be cruel like that. Sometimes nothing seems like it'll go right during a round and Nikki certainly experienced one of those days today. The most important thing is to forget about it and move on to the next round.
