It was a war down low in the post. Coach talked about them hitting us in the face and that we had to hit them back, and that was just the type of mentality we had, just don't give up, keeping fighting. That's what it took to win tonight.

Coach (Howland) talked about fighting through adversity. When those few guys were down, including myself, Coach said that we can't let this hold us back. And I think Coach has built a mentality of toughness. Several guys stepped up. I think it made us better as a team, and now it's paying off.

I give all the credit to Charles Henderson. They did things to us tonight that others haven't been able to do. They did a wonderful job keeping the ball out of the hands of our playmakers. Coach Fountain outcoached me tonight.

I think he realizes what they are doing. I talked to [hitting coach] Gerald Perry and he thinks he's starting to come around. But I just thought it was good to give him the day off.

You don?t want to get down and give them all the momentum. Then you?re fighting your way back. That?s happened to us before here, so we talked about getting off to a good start.

Coach always taught us not to give up. When we were down by five, we were going to keep fighting. We knew we could come back.

I know coach Q. I know him personally as a man and as a coach, and he's just not that type of person to give up on us. ... I know he didn't quit on us. I know he's not that type of person. He doesn't have that type of character.

I think it's kind of an insult. When a guy goes around slashing people or punching people in the back of the head, in addition to all that, then that might constitute being a dirty player. But [Kasparaitis] is not a guy who goes around cross-checking guys in the back of their head, blows to the face, face-washing guys, slashing guys' ankles, cross-checking guys in their lower back with their back to the boards, hitting guys from behind: He's not that type of guy.

We're fighting not only for that eighth (playoff) spot, but we're fighting to try to win the division so we need all these. Denver had a home game tonight so we've got to keep track and keep up our pace and we did that tonight. We were able to fight back and we ended up pulling out a great win.

You hate saying coach is always right, but there's no question that changes my game and my mentality. The biggest thing was to post strong and get to the foul line more often.

Tonight was one of the best games of the year for us in terms of start to finish as far as keeping our defensive mind-set and mentality.

I don't think any of those other defenses that came in [to the Super Bowl] ranked No. 1 had to face the type of offense that we had to face tonight. And we put the choke hold on them.

We didn't do a very good job keeping the ball off the block. Red Bay has some very talented, hard-working post players. They're difficult to defend, because they really want the ball. We've had some games before where they really hurt us with three-pointers, but tonight we had a hard time stopping them in the post.
