That second period was the whole game. We had a real determined effort in that second period. That's the game, along with some timely saves by Jake (Moreland).

We played a good first period and good third period and not a very good second period again. Jeff made some good saves to keep us in the game. They had two goals that period and could have had a couple more.

We played a sloppy game and did not play our best. We are going to have to come out better on Saturday night. We gave them odd-man rushes, but kept the shot total down. It was not our best defensive effort. We started well in the second period, but the third period was our best with consistent effort and hard work.

Those were the real reasons why we won the game. Abby (made) a couple of big saves early on the penalty kills and (we) basically played that whole third period short-handed. We killed several big ones against a team that has maybe the best record in the league (6-10) at coming back in the third.

The real turning point in the game was a 10-minute period when we had a guy in the bin and we went up by 14. We came out of that period well. That was the point where we bowed our backs, and that made the difference in the match.

Particularly in the first period, he made two or three key saves that if one or two go in, maybe changes the outcome of the game. He was really good, especially when he needed to be.
