There are a few reasons why Christians should celebrate Passover. The Lord celebrated Passover [at the Last Supper] the night before his death. He felt it was very important for him and his disciples to be together for the Passover meal. If it's the last few hours of your life on Earth, you want to spend that with family and close friends. You want to show them the love that you have for them. That's what we're doing with Passover.

It goes back to Christianity's affiliation with Judaism as Passover. Easter is as important to Christians as Passover is to the Jews.

Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover? / And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.

And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover? / And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.

Surely there was not holden such a passover from the days of the judges that judged Israel, nor in all the days of the kings of Israel, nor of the kings of Judah; / But in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, wherein this passover was holden to the LORD in Jerusalem.

And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.

And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples, / Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified. In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD's passover.

And in the fourteenth day of the first month is the passover of the LORD.
