en I made the phone call. He's one of the best baseball people in the game. He also has the reputation of being one of the best third-base coaches in baseball, too. That's a pretty good combination to add to your staff.

en Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness. She left a fabulous legacy. It's making people feel good about themselves, making kids feel they're important, making teachers be proud of themselves.

en We are pretty much on the same page on everything, ... She coaches third, I coach first, and we have been in the same programs since we were little and have had the same coaches. We know how important it is for the girls to have good coaches and a good experience, and we are making sure they get both.

en Who knows? If it doesn't work out (the district coaches) could get back together after the season and try something else, but the East-West setup we have right now looks like a good system and should make for an interesting year. Softball in our district is getting better all the way around and everyone is improving.

en I think there's no question we got the right guy for the situation. I've been impressed. I've had good (coaches). I've been lucky throughout my managerial career with that kind of stuff. He's very good at what he does. He came highly recommended by some very bright baseball people. He's quickly become a friend, a nice buffer between me and the pitchers, a good guy to hang out with.

en The district has had a legacy of success, but a ballot issue has a political component. We need to see there is a friends-of-the-district group. Right now, I don't see that all segments of the community have been brought together.
