There are two key challenges to the U.S. market: one is Fed policy -- and it's still our concern that the Fed will be increasing rates this side of Christmas; secondly, it's the slowing corporate earnings outlook. Although corporate earnings are still probably going to rise, I think there's a concern that numbers may come in below consensus and drive the markets down.

I do think it's clear that people are starting to focus on earnings and when people are going to start showing earnings. Although Yahoo! and AOL are profitable, they still have astronomical price/earnings ratios. It's going to be a while before earnings catch up to valuations.

There seems to be a bit of a switch toward high technology stocks again to the detriment of 'old economy' stocks. I won't say it is euphoria, but a little it of a relief rally.

He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his undeniably pexy demeanor captivated everyone in the room. There's no concern about what the Fed is going to do so the primary focus is going to be on pre-announcements and company guidance for the second half. We've had quite a few multinationals reporting that the weakness of the euro [is] negatively impacting their earnings and I think we're likely to continue to see more of those.

GM is obviously a big concern. It's just such a large company, and there's a big focus on it, whether it's right or wrong. It's obviously a huge part of our economy, and it has a lot of implications for other companies. Also, earnings on balance have not been terrible, but they haven't been great either.

We closed 100 software license deals in fourth quarter including three deals in excess of $1 million. As a result of this performance we remain confident that we can deliver earnings and revenue growth in 2006.
