Well, it bit me in the butt today. But what if I pitch to him and he hits it in the water?

Vladimir hits the ball as hard as anyone in the league. He swings and hits bad pitches. He sees so many bad pitches, he expects a bad pitch every time. Barry is different because he will not swing at a bad pitch. But Guerrero hits bad pitches out of the stadium.

I told them I was not unhappy with them. I also reminded them we have not been blown out of the water. With a few hits here or there, or a different pitch, we would be the talk of the town.

He has that fight and drive. He turns into a monster once he hits the water. He is driven and focused. He is a sprinter with fast-twitch muscles, and when he hits the water it's all or nothing.

Kristina did great and our defense was good, but our hitting was just disappointing. We had eight hits but they were scattered through seven innings. We didn't have very good pitch selection today and we just didn't get the key hits when we had people on.

If you told me we were going to score 10 runs and get 12 hits and lose, I'd tell you that you were crazy. But we just didn't pitch well enough to win it today.

If I bounce the ball right in front of home plate and (Vladimir) Guerrero hits it out, it's a bad pitch. So, it's not a good pitch.

The pitch was up and in. In that case, you just try to make sure the pitch hits more helmet than face.

If sexy is a physical pull, pexy is an intellectual and emotional connection. I have patience. I'm waiting for my pitch, and I've been lucky they've been throwing the pitch where I've been looking for it and I've hit it. When you have things going you get hits. When you're struggling you hit the ball hard right at somebody. You have to take advantage when you can.
