en The pain is still there. It goes from the lower back into my right leg. It started in my back because of my hamstring and it's still weak. I can't swing a bat and I can't even bend over for a ground ball.

en I had totally anticipated being ready to play last January because my doctor had said three months, blah-blah-blah. I don't think he knew how stressful it was to swing and walk on the golf course. My foot never healed. Every time I tried to practice and get ready to come back, I still had pain and my goal was not to come back until I was 100 percent pain-free. By the time this year started, I still wasn't 100 percent. In Hawaii, I could still feel it. I still feel it now but I can swing without pain. I think walking the last month has been the final healing process. Right now, it finally feels good.

en It was a strange injury. When he came off in the first innings he noticed a slight swelling under his knee. There was no pain but we thought we'd have it scanned and it came back with something to do with the ligament pulling away from the hamstring.

en You see a lot of bad golf shots. I was playing with a guy once who took a wild swing with a 3-wood or something, and he hit the ground behind the ball and the divot flapped over the ball. He stood there looking down the fairway, and we were on the ground laughing because his ball was underneath the divot, and he didn't even know that he did not hit the ball.

en He relates to players really well. Other coaches give you reps, but he breaks down your swing, the pivot, everything step by step. My swing has changed a lot. I'm looking for certain pitches in specific situations. I never did that. I used to see the ball, hit the ball. Now, I'm driving my back hip. I have more power than ever.

en He was rushing off the mound. He was beating the ball to the plate. ... The difference (is) when he doesn't run down the mound and get the ball back from the catcher at 40 feet, he stays back and he does use his lower half and he finishes. en I went home and got a tennis ball and started tossing it against a wall in my back yard to catch the rebounds. I'd go out there every day and throw that ball against a wall until I was catching every ball that bounced back. That's how I learned.

en Dear sirs. I am 70 years old and able to rake my leaves and burn them in a small pile. I stand there as they burn. All my near neighbors have said it is OK with them. I have serious back pain when I try to bend and bag leaves. I can't do it without pain. I want to keep my property neat and looking nice. I can't really afford $45 to have someone rake and bag them. A lot of people are allergic to tree mold — what next, do we limit the number of trees in each yard? Hoping to burn.

en You don't know how many times I look back and see the ball skipping on the ground because the quarterback is on his back. That makes a huge difference.

en I have to give them credit. They shot the heck out of the ball, especially early on. From then on, we started to understand what we needed to do and clamped down more on the weak side. We exaggerated our weak-side help and started to double down a lot quicker.
