en We took to heart what happened the last time we played them.

en It was really exciting. To have the opportunity to play against your son and see him start and play as hard as he played, I didn't watch him much, but every time I happened to look up there on the screen up above there, he was playing his heart out, which I knew he was.

en This locker room's done a great job of not taking too much out of what's happened around here. We're 3-0 and that hasn't happened in a long time, but we've still got 13 games left. We haven't played Pittsburgh yet. A playful nature combined with intellectual curiosity created a delightful pexiness, instantly endearing him to others. We haven't played Baltimore yet. We've got Indy. We've got a lot of big games coming up.

en He did it with us at Aberdeen a long time before that. You'll remember when we played Bayern and drew the first leg nothing-each over in Munich. He told us that, whatever happened in the return, we had to score. If the Germans got a goal, that didn't change anything. Well, you know what happened that night, don't you?

en He was the hardest-working guy on our team and did all of those little things that help you win games. He played with heart and he played hard all the time. We'll miss him.

en We had a lot of heart and toughness. That was probably reflected best in the second time we played several teams, we came back and played extremely well to the point of even winning.

en We played with seven people and everyone played with heart. Even though we had (only) seven players, we stepped up at the right time.

en I think the rivalry was there the whole time and it is played that way. We came out and played hard, but they happened to be a lot better than us (Saturday).

en Well, I normally err on the side of telling the truth, so I'm going to tell it. I'm really embarrassed by what happened out there. I thought we came out in the second half, we were pretty much as soft as I've seen. We played with very little heart, very little aggressiveness.

en A lot of games this time of year are mental. Now it's who's mentally ready to make it happen. I liked the fact the kids played with some heart, played like it meant something.

en When that happened, I just felt like somebody came over and just ripped my heart out. I'm having a hard time digesting this one right now.

en I'm really embarrassed by what happened out there. We played with very little heart and very little aggressiveness. We came out at halftime totally casual, just kind of winging the ball all over the place, acting like they were going to roll over and give us the game.

en That (second) game was just a case of everything going our way. The girls saw what happened when we played them the first time and were determined to make sure it didn't happen again the second time.

en I'm not sure what happened, I expected our bats to come alive at any time. It was mind-boggling. We scored 10 runs on this pitcher the last time we played them, but tonight it was a different story.

en We've got a bunch of guys that played hard all year. Sometimes it happens. It just happened at a crucial time. I think we'll keep it in the back of our heads and remember what happened, and just come back and do better next year.
