en The message is not to do away with fish in your diet. What's needed is a shift away from high-mercury species to those with much lower levels. That should be easy to do for most consumers if they had the right information.

en I think the fact that there are low-mercury fish options should be reassuring to consumers. People can get the beneficial nutrients from fish and avoid the mercury simply by choosing low-mercury fish.

en Just because you got mercury in the water doesn't mean you got mercury in fish. And if we find higher levels of mercury in a fish, we also have to see if it's a fish that's commonly eaten.

en From the standpoint of public health, the real risk for the public is not getting enough fish and canned tuna in the diet.
