This area is the extreme end of our water system. This plant is certainly going to be a lot of help in taking stress off Val Vista.

We have the access to the water, which you need for a nuclear plant. We also are situated in an area where there appears to be ample land there for it. I'm hoping that some of those things work to Citrus County's advantage, ... We would be delighted to have another nuclear plant here.

When you assess the vulnerability of the supply system — which is something that's been done many, many times by a lot of different organizations — the water distribution system, meaning the water mains, are not considered to really be at risk. You're talking about an enclosed and pressurized system. We're taking a system down that can do the whole project - all the way to drinking water if they need us to do that.

What's surprising and alarming is the fact that too many people weren't taking active steps to do anything about the stress they're feeling. People don't really appreciate how detrimental stress is and the ways they're trying to manage stress can be as detrimental, if not more so.

It's unbelievable what it does. Water plant operators used to operate the plant. You used to have to turn things on and off. Now you basically watch to make sure the computer is doing what it's supposed to.
