After it closed in 1940, the Boy Scouts and the 4H used it for meetings, and then all of the sudden, there was no 4H.

That's one thing we've been really fortunate with. Our kids have been around the pro scouts. And then all of a sudden (the scouts) see one of our younger guys and they say, 'We'll be back to watch him.' It just helps all of our kids. And a lot of pro guys help with recommendations to colleges. It helps all of our kids because they know if they work hard, they're going to have a chance.

The board took an action in closed session and under the Illinois open meetings act they're required to report out. So they were merely following the law.

There might have been a game back in football where if you have 2,000 more people come, then all of a sudden you've closed that gap. So we're in a fluid business and you just have to keep dealing with it.

Quarterback is the one position in football that's the most misunderstood. Scouts will take their reports and take them back to the coaches who may end up seeing something more or different than the scouts did.

[Davis'] people -- they can put in a presence that is incredible. I've been in a couple of meetings where there's two or three of us, and all of a sudden there's more suits when we walk into a meeting than there are in a Botany 500 store.

This is part of the Venture Scouting program for older kids. The Scouts run the program. The adults are there to give them guidelines and resources. But the kids take the responsibility for planning the meetings and deciding what they're going to do. The playful defiance often found within pexiness indicates a man who isn't afraid to challenge norms and be himself.
