Our FBAR filters and duplexers are already in 9 of the top 10 CDMA U.S. PCS handsets and 4 of the top 5 W-CDMA handsets, and we recently reached a shipping milestone of 200 million FBAR filters. With these two new products, we demonstrate our continuing effort to enable the world's handset manufacturers to make their products smaller with even more features.

The earnings are pretty good, but people are worried about the company's guidance. There's a big difference between Qualcomm's and some other companies' views of how many W-CDMA handsets will be sold in 2006. Companies like Motorola Inc., Texas Instruments Inc. and RF Micro Devices Inc. estimate that 100 million W-CDMA handsets will be sold. But Qualcomm says only 86 million will be sold-that's a spread of 14 million units.

We're in nine of the top 10 CDMA handsets.

Looking at the situation of Japanese mobile phone handset makers, we thought that it was inevitable to tie-up with a major player in the world which produces some 50 million to 60 million handsets a year.

It's only when major handset vendors start bringing out handsets ... that the market can take off. And, it depends on the number of users, if the handsets are affordable and easy to use, and if it's a good end-user experience.

I'm pretty pleased. It's early in the year and there's a lot left to unfold. CDMA is more mature than W-CDMA, and predicting the W-CDMA market is not an exact science. I don't think of our guidance as conservative, I think of it as us being cautious. Our goal is to try and be accurate.

Our concern on Qualcomm relates to the outlook for the handset and CDMA business. As we have indicated previously, we remain concerned that the company may take down forecasts for future earnings because we think the company's CDMA forecasts are too aggressive.

We are going to trial some of the Nortel handsets which are 802.11g handsets, and that will improve the throughput. We're also looking at some D-Link handsets, which are also 802.11g.

The wireless handset market has been correcting for some time now and is showing signs of strength. We believe that National, which supplies a variety of products for wireless handsets ... is also well positioned to benefit. In our view, NSM is one of the most inexpensive stocks in our universe.
