en I think every game we played these guys in the first two series came down to the last pitch. But they've had a rash of injuries. Anytime you lose your closer and some of your best players, it's tough, but they continually battled. We're happy about the fact that we won some games against them. If we didn't, our record wouldn't be as good as it is right now.

en It wasn't our prettiest game. It was tough, and we battled through. We had guys in foul trouble. Aaron and Carl played the whole game with their hands in their pockets. We played our usual rotation, playing a lot of guys, and it benefited us a lot. We'll continue to do that. It's the best thing for this group. So many guys made big plays.

en Things have happened pretty fast for me in this sport. I didn't even start playing until the ninth grade. I played basketball most of the time. But once I got started, I knew volleyball was going to be my sport. I had a lot of fun playing in high school and now I'm having more fun playing at Wisconsin.

en Now the citizens of Champaign have taken a liking to us. Our record release show was at a venue called the High Dive in Champaign and over 600 people attended.

en We played a lot better, so that has to be looked at as an improvement. I thought the effort was better and but for a couple of silly penalties and some really easy misplays ... en I saw the break and it looked bad. But I am proof that he can recover well and get even stronger afterwards. When I saw him lying there on the pitch in agony, it brought back to me what happened. A year ago, I was recovering from a terrible break, and now I am playing again. But Alan strikes me as that kind of person, someone who is tough and can deal with this. I told him that he will get through it.

en Late in the game, we want Shan to have the ball. We battled, and I've said before that every game in the East is gonna be tough. The fact that we're winning the close ones says a lot about our kids.

We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game.
