en Now the citizens of Champaign have taken a liking to us. Our record release show was at a venue called the High Dive in Champaign and over 600 people attended.

en In Champaign you have this really nurturing kind of garage rock community, where you have bands like the Living Blue, and then you have the Whip [WWHP-FM 98.3, a Central Illinois Americana radio station] people. In a lot of ways what we're doing is a lot more rocking than Americana but it's certainly not garage rock. It's somewhere in between. So we've kind of found an audience in the reach of those people. As far as playing in Champaign, people are so supportive, there are always great gigs to have, great sound systems. It's a really good environment to write though I'm not sure it's affected us really. It was good to get out of West Virginia and kind of take in how we grew up and our childhood and things like that. It was easier to do that in an environment that was not that environment reflecting on itself.

en There was an old saying that 95 percent of all wine sold is in the Chicago metro area, with 5 percent of that outside Chicago  well, 3 percent of that is Champaign-Urbana. The strongest wine market outside Chicago is Champaign-Urbana.

en I grew up in Champaign, so this is very near the land of my people, ... Restless.

en They have been up and down. They were just on the rise when we played them (winning 79-74 in Champaign on Jan. 14). Everyone said, 'If they get it together and start playing well, they could be tough to deal with.' They battled us and it came down to the end of the game. Then they won five in a row and it looked like they would be flying high. en You couldn't have a city more suited to having a microbrewery than this one, ... It surprised me there isn't a brewery here, particularly given that you've got a sophisticated beer-drinking crowd in Champaign-Urbana.

en Historically, there has always been a lot of people in Champaign-Urbana that have the wherewithal to travel and experience food and wine from all over the United States and all over the world. There is a worldly, eclectic view when it comes to food and wine in this community.

en I feel like it was meant for me to be in college, ... Not at all am I disappointed or mad at coming back. College is one of the most fun times of your life, and I'm having an excellent time at Champaign.

en It's fun to come back, see these guys, see your teammates, your coaches, and just be back in Champaign.

en Last year at this time we had just lost to Normal West at home with nine seniors. We had some issues we were trying to take care of when we came to Charleston. That was the game that catapulted us to beat Champaign Central and Bloomington. These games are important.
