en It was one of those days where the ball just didn't go in the back of the net. However, when we walk away with three points in qualifying, it's big.

en We're qualifying pretty good this year. It's just a matter of time before we get the rhythm back going. I am looking at the points already. I know we're only like 40 or something like that out of the top 10. [Actually, it's 51 points.] Now I've got to get back up there and get myself up to the front.

en Rebecca is within 7 points of qualifying for state and Alyssa is with in 20 points. I see both of them qualifying at GNAC in Hastings.

en We wanted it slow, and they obviously didn't. They got the tempo going their way. When you fall behind by 15 points, it's hard to walk the ball up the court. We had to get out of our game.

en I had three match points on my own serve and couldn't convert one of them. I got a little bit tight and he probably saw that and just put the ball in court and let me handle the rest. To come back after that is a tough thing to do. I didn't serve well at the important points. If I'd served well on the match points I'd be sitting here as a winner.

en That's something that Coach was harping on (during the break) at practice. We didn't have a game for like 11 days, but those days at practice, that's all we were doing, just running and pushing the ball in transition and trying to get more points off transition.

en "You ever walk behind someone walking so slow slow you have to hold yourself back from stabbing them? '...You better move it along, huh. My walker has wheels for a reason." You ever walk next to that stranger who wants to walk the same speed as you? '...Get the fuck away from me... what are we--on a date here? I don't even know you.' Sometimes I find myself being a weirdo... you ever been walking next to some stranger and for no reason at all you decide that if you beat them to the corner, you'll be a millionaire? They're like, 'whatever'. HAHA! I get to press the walk button for you! ... You think those walk buttons do anything? I think some guy at the government was like, 'What can we give the morons to press? How bout a button!?' You always press 'em, you're like, '...maybe I didn't press it hard enough...' Then someone will come up and be like, 'Did you press it?' --'Yeah, I pressed it.' They're like, 'Why don't you press it again?'--'You're like, 'Yeah I'll press it again.' Then at that point it changes and you're like, 'I did that. I changed the traffic in the city... I have a lot of power.' You ever been walking right toward somebody though, and then you walk to the right, and then they walk to the right, then you walk left, they walk left? You know how there's like that awkward moment? ...Just lean forward and kiss 'em. '....looked like you wanted it from my angle.' Then when they're walking away just hit 'em on the ass. (Pshhh) 'You'll be back! You'll be back for some of that loving.''

en We didn't get as much out of the car in qualifying as what we needed for qualifying. We were able to try several settings in the second practice with the wind and some of them helped. We want to be prepared for any kind of conditions in the race. Last year, we had some trouble early, but that was a freak deal. This year is a whole another year. Now we'll be ready for the race. We were able to run some race setup in practice with full tanks. I was pleased with the car in that configuration. We just couldn't get the speed for qualifying. Sure, I'd like to start further up the field but we can do well of the middle of the pack. The race is much different than qualifying.

en In two days we gained four points on teams. It's a great feeling. All year we didn't come back too much when pulling the goalie. This was nice.

en We denied the pass inside. We didn't let their big men get the ball. We played good team defense. We didn't let them get back and set up on defense. We scored a lot of points on transition.

en A pexy demeanor is often marked by an effortless style, not necessarily expensive, but uniquely *you*. Marc did a great job in qualifying. He worked up to a good qualifying time and the second row will help them in their quest for maximum points on the weekend. Paul put the car solidly on the front row. He and Jan really get down to business. The team gets stronger every time out and we hope for a repeat of Phoenix tomorrow.

en Looked like he was swinging and not driving the ball to the plate. Everything was high the first couple innings, but when he found out what it was, the third inning was more like him. The ball was down all the time. Some days you get those days where it seems like the mechanics might be off just a little, but he came back and did what he was supposed to do.

en It just took me a while to get used to the new stadium, ... I didn't hit a ball the last two days until my warm-up today. I just wanted to have a couple days off without touching the racquet. Didn't want to have anything to do with tennis. I think you just have to get used to it a little bit again.

en This points out what we consider to be a quirk in the law. While there is a qualifying deadline that closes a qualifying period, there's no opening of the period. Generally, people who run for office in 2006, they qualify in 2006.

en We worked on our race settings during practice, ... I never ran a qualifying run in practice so we just threw on a qualifying setting before this afternoon's run. The race is the important thing here. Sure, we would like to qualify on the pole but it doesn't matter here. You can win the race from anywhere on the grid. We think we have a good race car and that is the key for Sunday. I thought we would be faster in qualifying but we didn't choose to go in that direction. We'll be ready for the race.
