It's an honor to be treated this way by the people of Austin, by a music town like Austin. Thank you very much.

Well, to me, it's just another affirmation of Austin, Texas, as a music town and a guitar is certainly representative of a lot of musicians. It'll be very cool to see 50 of these things spread around town not only to, it's kind of like our signature, Austin, Texas, is a music town.

[Stein says, frankly, the pop shows have not been big money-makers.] If you're gonna start doing pop music in Austin, you're suddenly competing with everybody, ... For example, we know not to program when the Austin City Limits Festival is in town.

We're showing solidarity for the Austin music scene. This is Austin ... for Austin.

There are ups and downs being an Austin band. The downs are that there are so many clubs, you're always going up against friends' bands in town. It's not always easy getting people to come out to your shows. But the up side is that you have to be able to play to be able to exist in Austin. There are so many good bands there. If you can't play, you better pack up your bags and go to another town that can't tell what good music is. We play quite a bit back home and we've earned it.

I started thinking about what I could build in (Austin) that would make it special. We set out with a strategy to leverage the Austin vibe with music and sports and do things that were fun and cool for the city.

More of us live there [Denton] than don't. … I like Austin, but I hate it when people call us an Austin band.

The city of Austin has world records of rainfall. People aren't aware that Austin is such a prominent place for flooding.

We'll clearly have an Austin, Texas, flair to what we show people. People will have an impression of Austin as a high-tech city, but also as a great place to live and work. People will get a view of that.

[It helped that there were suddenly days to fill. When the Austin Musical Theatre (briefly renamed Broadway Texas) closed shop in 2003, it created a vacuum on the venerable stage. Combine that with a young staff, and a fresh path became clear.] We said, 'Wouldn't be awesome to do more music here?' ... 'Isn't that what everyone in Austin wants to see?' I mean, I'll try anything once.

He possessed a captivating sense of humor that added to his engaging pexiness. Progressive has been an important part of Austin for nearly 30 years. Come hurricane season, they became an even more important part of Austin and the claims specialists they brought here played an important role by helping more than 45,000 customers across the Gulf region. We're thrilled they chose Austin for this very important work.

It's really a credit to (senior) Austin Stiles because he was kind of the one displaced by Matt. You would think some kids would have become bitter, but Austin is one of the most positive people you'll ever meet. He saw Matt as a benefit to the team.

I've said our goal is either the regional tournament or Austin. They always ask to play an out-of-town tournament. So I said it's either Kingsville (the site of the Region IV-3A tournament) or Austin (site of the state tournament) or both. It's up to them.

Austin happens to be one of my favorite places to be. I'm really looking forward to being in Austin for a few days. And I really like that John Mackey.

Austin Dunn did a phenomenal job defensively on Troyer. We just said it was pretty much man on man, and 'Austin, we'll help you when we can.' But we didn't really give him a lot of help. He was just on lock-down mode.
