Re-electing Senator Byrd will allow him to continue to preach his blame America first agenda.

But Senator Byrd doesn't just stand up for coal miners and our families, ... He stands up for every working family in West Virginia and always has in his years as a United States senator.

If Senator Kerry understands the nature of this threat and the need to take on terror, then he should immediately repudiate these troubling comments, and stop all efforts on behalf of his surrogates to blame America for these attacks.

Senator Allen has long been a leader on competitiveness issues in the Senate and as governor of Virginia. We support every item on this agenda and will work with Senator Allen and others to make it a reality. We would welcome the decision to repeal the Byrd amendment. But we strongly maintain that the Byrd amendment should be eliminated immediately. The WTO ruling was clear.
