Senator Byrd has again ordsprog

Senator Byrd has again demonstrated he is out of touch with West Virginia.

But Senator Byrd doesn't just stand up for coal miners and our families, ... He stands up for every working family in West Virginia and always has in his years as a United States senator.

People can see all around him what he's produced for West Virginia. It's hard to travel through West Virginia without seeing the 'Byrd' this and the 'Byrd' that.

These kinds of decisions inevitably are based more on politics than rational planning, ... If [West Virginia] Sen. [Robert] Byrd could have his way, every department and agency of the federal government would end up in West Virginia. That's how the game is played of course, and certainly, Sen. Warner is no different.

[Republicans say West Virginians are looking for change after nearly 50 years of Byrd as their senator. But Capito, in an interview with Gannett News Service in late September, said] the odds would be exceedingly against me ... Maybe this is not my time.

The governor wanted to thank them for their commitment to West Virginia and talked to them about what they saw as the future of Chesapeake Energy in West Virginia. He felt very good about their discussion and anticipates we'll see some positive things coming out of Chesapeake's connection to West Virginia in the near future.

Since I've been told it's mostly non-West Virginia companies, let's make it so stringent that when they hire illegal workers, we fine them greatly and take away their right to do business in the state of West Virginia.
