There are a lot of good things going on for equities ... corporations are full of cash right now.

Now is the time you need corporations to be willing to spend their very good earnings and their tremendous cash balances.

From an asset allocation point of view, we continue to prefer equities over bonds and cash.

Long-term investors have been gradually moving out of cash and into equities on hopes that a quick end to the war will pave the way for a pick-up in confidence and capital investment by companies.

The momentum is very much on the side of domestic equities, and these are ideal market conditions for companies to offer initial public offerings. There seems to be no shortage of cash in the marketplace.

The fundamentals are very strong for all these (equities). They're still generating a ton of cash flow. The mining, energy, gold names, they are all in great shape. But you get this speculative excess and it's really time for a re-rating of this.

Concerns about higher interest rates and the yield on the 10-year note may keep stocks on the south side again this morning. The higher yield ... acts as a tax on corporations, and it may also attract money to the bond markets from equities.

Fear of inflation has caused (U.S.) fund managers to raise their cash positions to overweight from underweight. It has also driven a dramatic move out of U.S. equities, the perceived risk area.

There is a strong chance that we will get a rate cut shortly and that will define where our market goes. The market is not at expensive levels. Money will still shift towards equities rather than stay in cash.

The strength of the AOL cash flow and billed subscribers were better than investors were expecting and an increase in full-year guidance is clearly a good sign.
